Appreciative Inquiry was developed to help transform organizations; however, it is equally transformative in individuals. AI is not just about asking positive questions; it is also about learning to see the world with fresh eyes. Appreciative Inquiry does not ignore negative feelings or circumstances but helps to shift our perspective from despair and frustration to one of possibility and opportunity. Uncovering and celebrating what is right with others, and anything that may arise in our lives, is a mental habit that can be learned through deliberate, mindful practice.
