We hope that you are continuing to be safe and well during this time. Like everyone, we have been reevaluating what we do, how we do it, what is most meaningful for each of us and for those we care about, and, most importantly, what positive energy may we put forth into the World.
While the Coronavirus may make individuals fearful of travel and social gatherings, the desire to learn more about Appreciative Inquiry and its various applications is still going strong. To ensure that we meet the demand for Appreciative Inquiry, we are working hard to provide alternative training options to our large AI network. We are excited to announce that we are transforming our world-renowned Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator Training (AIFT) into an online program.
Since debuting in Spring 2003, the AIFT was constructed as a highly intensive, immersive program. Yearly program reviews are conducted by our Certified Trainers to ensure the AIFT remains relevant, experiential, and practical. Over the years, we have updated the AIFT’s instructional materials and exercises – ensuring that all modifications made to the program were in alignment with the expectations set 17 years ago.
Currently, we are working with a team of seasoned AI practitioners, instructional designer, and technical support to create an online version of the Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator Training (AIFT©) that holds up to our high standards of creating a meaningful learning environment filled with trust and engagement that enhances your learning going forward. Facilitating Appreciative Inquiry has so many components to it and your success is what drives and motivates us.
The team of AI Practitioners who have stepped forward to transform our certification program are exceptional in their knowledge and experience in the field of Appreciative Inquiry, have delivered virtual offerings, and understand adult learning theory and online course design. Re-inventing this program takes time, but we are excited about the progress we have made and how the program is taking shape. We anticipate that it will take a couple months for us to convert the materials and exercises and upload the course into a Learning Management System, but we wanted to be transparent in where we are in the process.
Dr. Jeanie Cockell and Dr. Joan McArthur-Blair will be leading the launch of the virtual AIFT. Both have a depth of Appreciative Inquiry Experience with organizations and individuals; a career in education as faculty and administrators; and experience teaching online and face-to-face.
